NAME
The name of this organization shall be the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of New Mexico, referred to also as the ASBMB at UNM.
PURPOSE
Our purpose is to provide an enriched experience for undergraduate biochemistry students, supportive academically, socially, and professionally—one that edifies beyond graduation with lifelong skills and connections. We seek to empower our members with networking, service, and other practical opportunities that are enjoyable, stimulating, and adaptable to individual needs.
As the UNM student chapter for the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, our focus includes advancing our science. Through outreach across campus and within the community, we aim to encourage everyone to improve their lives by exploring the molecular basis of life’s processes.
